Bob Cancilla is the principle and primary consultant. We have access to a diverse number of additional consultants with a broad range of skills to assist and facilitate any computer systems project.
Bob Cancilla has over 40 years of experience as an IT and marketing executive including 5 years with IBM as the World Wide Product Marketing Manager for IBM Rational tools for IBM’s iSeries and IBM i. He has served as Chief Technology officer, VP Development, and various other executive positions over the years including Product Manager for Insurance Financial Systems for a major Insurance Software Company.
He has been the architect and executive responsible for three major enterprise level development projects for three different Fortune 100 insurance companies building custom systems for all areas of the companies.
He has implemented rigorous IT project initiation and control systems necessary to comply with Sarbanes Oxley. He was able to bring companies back into compliance who had failed their audits.
He is a member of the ISACA and is proficient in the COBiT methodolog, the VAL IT framework, and in IT Governance. Bob has been instrumental in putting together IT Governance, Executive Steering Committees, and improving project management for several major companies.
He was responsible a pioneer in designing the architecture and implementation of the first commercial insurance e-business applications and built one of the first user enabled content management systems for the web. As co-founder and Managing Director of the eBusiness User Group: IGNITe/400 he had the opportunity to participate in several e-Business consulting projects in the UK involving major direct retail e-commerce systems.
Over the years he has been heavily involved in computer industry user groups and was president of Computer Associate’s CADRE database user group, was a steering committee member on IBM’s WebSphere User Group Steering Committee. He founded and operated (with Bleddyn Williams of Serena Ltd) the IGNITe/400 user groupthat grew to over 8700 active members.
He has been noted as a leading database expert and has worked with Dr. C.F. Codd, Ken Sloan, Joe Lynn, and other pioneers in relational database architecture and implementation. He had extensive interaction with James Martin. At IBM Bob was heavily involved with IBM’s line of Rational development and system control tools for both IBM i and zSeries.
Most recently Bob spent close to a year working with a company specializing in Cloud Based Open Source software. He worked with well over 30 unique clients helping to implement the technology at tremendous savings to the client companies.
